A day of firsts!!
 

I got real brave yesterday and decided to take both if my boys together (5&7) saltwater fishing for the first time. This was my first time launching from Intracoastal city and my first time trying to redfish the pass. For my youngest son Noah this was his first time in salt water. So as you can see a lot of firsts.

We made the run to Tee Butte just to check it out but had little success. On our way back to the Pass we ran across some birds, I knew it would be catfish but catching is still fun.

Finally settled in behind one of the reefs in the pass and started catching right as the tide turned the bite shut down.

Ended up running back around to hell hole, water was much cleaner in there. We managed a few more fish . Then a storm started brewing and my youngest was getting a little worried so we bounced our way back to the landing.Attachment 90860Attachment 90861Attachment 90862Attachment 90863

Awesome report. How old were they when you first started bringing them out with you? Mine is 3 and I think he's finally calm enough to bring him on the boat, but I don't think he's ready for sitting and fishing just yet.

Matt, I started at 4 with both of them; all short trips nearby in Henderson. I took plenty of snacks and drinks and I went with the mindset of keeping it fun for them and not catching fish. It worked out for me as they both have turned out to be patient and understand it's fishing not catching.
