Solid Trout 7-13
 

Summer, Jordan, & Jamie Perkins and Tommy Murphy joined me today. With the conditions presented this morning (west winds for two days pushing some dirty water over) I decided to buy some "insurance" to be safe. We picked up some croakers and then headed to the honey hole. We started catching trout on double rigged Matrix Shad like we do every day at our first stop. The bite was much slower than Sunday's bite, as we just picked away. Once the bite slowed to a crawl, we threw croakers with no luck. Our second location only found two trout on plastics and zero on croakers. Third stop produced around ten fish on plastics and zero on croakers. Things were looking grim with only about 30 fish in the K2. I decided to roll the dice and run and check a ole honey hole!!! The decision paid off big time!! The croakers actually ended up paying off today, as the "Big girls" came out to eat them!!! The action went from slow to fast, as we finally got the trout going in a frenzy. The guys couldn't believe the size of the trout as everyone went 17-20 inches. It was great to finally see the K2 full to the top after struggling all morning and the excitement in my crews face was even better!!!! Great time fishing with these guys and I look forward to their return.
