Power pole sportsman 2 or blade

Lookin to pull the trigger on a PP and can't decide on which one. I'm leaning more towards the 8' because of price tag and wondering if the Blade is worth the extra money. Besides the added looks and Bluetooth function and being faster is it really worth it?

I have the blade 10 ft and the only one i have ever owned. So can't tell you about the others. But I like mine. It is bluetooth but only for android not apple. My son has a droid phone so he updates my software for me.

I had an 8 on my old boat and a 10 on my current boat . Love the 10' blade!

I am looking at all these options for the boat I am having built, and I am really thinking an Ipilot or Ipilot link trolling motor is going to be a more effective tool than a power pole for the money. Now the various cajun poles that are manually dropped seem like a great value, just have to find one that works for you. The boat will have dual powerpole brackets if I ever change my mind.

well I have seen many many posts by people who bought the 8ft and wish they had the 10ft so I would recommend you get the 10 so you have that extra 2ft if you ever need it.

if you ever find yourself in 8ft of water that 8ft pole will be mostly useless unless it dead flat calm

"it's long enough" - said no one ever!!!

Get the 10'.

I have 10' talons...... not getting into the PP v T

but get 10s if you can you wont regret it

rustyb 07-21-2015 05:08 PM

The blue tooth works with iPhone BTW. Yes the extra length is worth the expense.

If I could have a do over, Id have bought one Talon and a Ipilot, I currently have 2 Talons, I often find my self turning off one of the Talons so only one is operational.

8ft PP blade....and regret not getting the 10ft. I should have known:rolleyes:. It is always better to cry once when you pay for the proper equipment than cry everytime the improper but cheaper equipment does not get the job done!

rardoin, You are absolutely correct sir!!!!!

Patt 08-11-2015 10:30 PM

Well looks like I'm gonna go ahead and get the 10ft!

Bigger is better. I don't care what your girlfriend tells you.

I have a motor guide Xi5 which is the same as the Ipilot and have never wished I had a power pole. I find it does everything a power pole would do and more. I use it ALL the time. I hardly even use a anchor offshore anymore. Just my opinion.

I have an ipilot and a power pole, I use the powerpole maybe 1 out of 5 trips. The ipilot it worth every penny I paid for it

I have the Ipilot Link and the 10" Talon.... I wouldn't trade either one.... Both are worth its weight in Gold...... Either way...you'll wanna go 10' for sure....
