My good friend makes some excellent tamales. I bring him 2-10lb rolls of ground meat and he makes me 10dz or so. Fare tradeoff and a quick snack for the kids. I freeze them 3 to a pack.

voted for boudin trail but hatch chiles are pretty killer! Tamales are a weakness of mine and for LA what/where do you get your tamales made or purchase? I've had some from Zwolle that were rock solid but I usually go to texas and pick them up when I'm visiting.

Zwolle tamales are legit.

I make some pretty good pork tamales. But making them is a PITA for one person.
If he has it and you can get his grandmas tamale recipe from Garfish. You will be eating some of the best tamales i ever ate.
