West cove,Prein Lake

Has anyone made a trip to West Cove are Prein Lake this week? I am thinking about taking vacation day Friday and give it a try.

This morning, I drove past Shell Beach Drive which runs along side Lake Charles and saw birds working in front of that new marina they build a few years ago so I'd say Prien might be promising. Their were quite a few birds picking at one particular spot. It thought that was interesting for them to be right there where they were.

Thanks for the info havnt been out in a couple weeks but last year at this time they were there on ledges. Nice area to fish during the week but weekend way to many pleasure riders. Thanks

Would west cove be too shallow with the 5-10 kt N. winds saturday?
Always (probably too) cautious going in there in the blackjack.
Same question for Washout area, running through there this time of year

You should be ok in both places I think. Just don't get too close the island or the bank in W Cove.
