opening day in the swamp

Me,my buddy, and my son hunted sat. morning.Started off with woodies and teal. Wasnt till 8:30 before we saw our first big ducks. Shot a couple of mallards out of that. THen around 9 we started getting into some more mallards. It was kinda unusual because it was easier to get the groups to come in than the singles. They just seemed to want it ,cause we would still be hooping it up about the way the last ones came in and waving our arms in the air,and we would look up,and there would be some more with the flaps down. Unfortunately we had to leave at 9:30 because we were doing Christmas with my wifes family. Well, it was a beautiful day,and we had a blast. We kept my son(retriever) busy chasing and picking up ducks. We ended up with 9 mallards,4 woodies, and 3 blue wing teal. Cant wait to get back on em.

Them Mallards got a lot of meat on them.
You need some help eating all that meat?

Awesome

Great looking trip there! We couldn't blare a call loud enough to have a mallard hear us in Gueydan! Very few shootable ducks. Came out with 4 Teal Saturday and one really nice Pintail hen Sunday (2 guns both days). Seen many big ducks and geese flying up near the space station. Horrible year so far! :pissed:

speck is that one of those remote controlled spotlights on the bow of your boat? how do you like it? I have been wanting one for quite a while just like the fact that I can point my qbeam whereever I want however it would be nice to have a free hand.

LaAngler 12-21-2009 11:13 PM

yes it is. It also has a magnetic base,so I can quickly remove it when I want. I cut the plug and put a trolling motor plug on it,and its also a 24 volt light, which means,I can plug it into my same trolling motor outlet. Love it when I get to our landing; I can turn it on from inside the truck and shine it where Im backing to.

Also have a nice light mounted to a hard hat that allows you to free up both hands and always lights up where you are looking.
