Pretty cool right there. That's what contours are supposed to look like.

revspiggles 11-10-2015 09:37 AM

I knew about the holes as well. love that area... What program did you use to do the contours? I have been having issues with mine in mapping for the project

alphaman 11-10-2015 10:11 AM

how much mapping of Big Lake has been done. I have no idea how this all works really although I do know you guys have discussed it. But I don't really know who's sharing info and what to do with any data that I may collect. One thing's for sure is that I need to re-mount my xducer because it loses its signal sometimes when running in certain conditions.

West Cove is pretty much dead with all the oyster raping that has happened. That's my understanding any how. I would concentrate on the main part of the lake where there are more live reefs. I heard on the news that the oysters in West Cover are pretty much gone. Just drive around the Cove and the channel around Cameron and take note of all the dredges in that area. Its crazy. The East part of the lake is off limits to the rapists/dredgers (harsh words I know these guys are trying to make a living) so I would rather spend my gas mapping the main part of the lake for now.
