I know there have been posts, but what is ya'lls opinion on the damage oyster dredging does to a spot. I watched 3 boats working one of my favorite spots for 2 days a few weeks ago. It looked like they were stripping it bare. I can't see how that area would be worth fishing for awhile afterwards.

was that in west cove?

Yea once they dredge a spot bare, it usually goes cold for a while. 3 or 4 spots I fish in WC they dredged heavy last year and they still did not hold many fish in the spring still.

I had some friends that guide offshore from the Keys fishing with me in the lake and they were blown away by the site of 30 boats dredging natural reefs for oysters, guess ive gotten used to it, but there reaction was eye opening.

Yeah was in West Cove. It was my first time seeing it. I understand people gotta make money, but dang! But then I don't know the specifics on the natural replacement of the crop. Guess Ill be looking for some new spots come spring....
