Anyone been to Toledo Bend lately?

Planning on going to the Bend on 2/01/16.
Wondering if the bass had moved up yet.

I have heard some reports of shallow catches, but the best reports have been the typical stuff you do this time of year-traps, swim baits deep spinners and C-rigs. The shallow fish have come on square bills and spinnerbaits. If the water you fish is not too stained, always have a Rapala SR-05 tied on.

Buddy of mine went last Wednesday. Hurricane bay. They had 12 keepers. Majority caught in 15' water.

Well, there is a warming trend up there starting Friday 1/29. I'm hoping it might rev 'em up a bit. Thanks for the replies.

Read a recent article discussing a tournament winner's strategy. Deep on crank baits and swim baits on one of those spinner jig heads. Somewhere near or in tenn. Bay.

I was kind of thinking of starting 4-8 feet, looking for grass lines near deeper water on points.

Maybe Indian Mounds if wind allows me to cross the lake in my 15x48 aluminum.

If you can't find good grass, or don't have any confidence in what everyone else is doing point hopping is always a good start. S wind will be chunking all weekend, be safe.

Thanks. I'm mainly fishing Arnold Bay / Diamond Cove. Indian Mounds are basically straight across the lake from us, but high winds/ waves can cancel that out for me.
Going up Sunday with Monday being the main fishing day. May use Sunday to scout out some spots with the depth finder. My small flat/bottom boat and high winds don't get along well. Thanks for all yall's info.

I think you'll be fine these days... pressure will be a little high so may have to slow down a tad, but fish are definitely going to be moving today. Some may lock on

Fresh_Life 02-12-2016 09:44 AM

Going tomorrow, but today is the day. Winds switch to N/NE at 10-15 for Saturday. I predict I do not get a bite.

Crankbait36 02-12-2016 08:47 PM

I freaking lost a monster today definitely 10 plus!
