Catch and Release

These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago. A friend of a friend took them in central Mississippi. They think the deer was only trapped overnight judging by pit he had dug trying to get loose. They released him but not before snappin a few pics. Enjoy!!

If you were in a similar situation, would you free him or release him to the freezer and hang his head on the wall?

I woulda released the .270 on his a$$ and released the meat in the grease

Cool pics.....I would have let him go and enjoyed telling the story and showing the pics...

I'm not sure what I would do, releasing him sounds like the sportsmanlike thing to do, but I could see myself killing him as well. I think it would come down to how long the buck had been there. If he was still "fresh", and not injured, I'd like to think I would release him.

let him go.....what sport is it to kill an animal that is trapped. i guess you could go down to terrebonne and shot some floating deer.

Well some people hunt high fence ranches. Their "trapped" what's the sport in that ?

i agree with you jordan that goes along with what i was saying. i guess from that angle at least those guys wouldn't have had to pay a ton of money to kill that deer.

If i need the meat, you better beleive his butt would be dead. if not, i'll turn em loose

This is what I would do.........Give him a sporting chance........ Unhook em.... Set him free and then Shot......That way he had a sporting chance to get away if I missed
