Calc River 2/1
 

Fished the river for a few hours today. Put in at white oak and headed north. Water is still high, stained/muddy, and was moving pretty good. Very windy as well. Managed to catch 5 bass and a choupique. Fish caught on crankbaits and jigs.

if you don mind me asking, what color crank bait were you using?

Was throwing a bandit 100 or 200 series. Black back with white/pearl bottom...not sure of the actual color name, but thats the best description i have haha

Cool thanks, going on the west fork in today. I'll try it out, the calcasieu has never been nice to me though! Lol

Some days it can be tough. It's one of those places you can go one day and catch a few and the next not a one lol....Good luck and let us know how it goes.

well I did manage to set the hook a few times but come up short. I had one that was swimming off with my black/blue speed craw and missed it! then a little later I had a really nice fish on a spinner bait all the way to the boat and it swirled and come off. pretty fish though :)
