What stainless prop is considered the best for bay boats? Durable? After talking with Montauk 17, he said Mercury Mirage. What do you'll think? I have the pitch nailed down to a 19''. All I need to decide is the diameter... Mirage is a 15.25'' wheel. I am worried this is a little big for my Yamaha 150 2-stroke. I'm probably opening up a big can of worms with this question.

beg and borrow different props as they all act differently. I can't tell you how many I tried on my Blackjack before settling on one.

Your best bet is to go w/ whatever yamadog has to offer,they make good bayboat props...good luck.

I think mine is a 14 X 19 four blade on a 150 Yamaha.

Call power tech props and ask for Marcus Clement. They make several different designs and he is very good. The prop game is a tricky one, but Marcus got mine on the nose first try.

My boat motor and prop came as a package from the boat manufacturer.
The boat was tested by the dealer before I accepted it.
The numbers were exactly what the manufacturer said they would be.

Trust me,that 2 stroke 150 will have no problem what so ever turning a mirage. We do this for a living and the mirage is the best bay boat prop,hands down. Power Tech does make good props for the smaller motors,but there v6 props are not the greatest.

I hear ya, Montauk! How much does a 15.25 x 19 Mirage run? I also understand you'll will adjust it if need be at no additional charge... that is a big plus.

Power tech. Best prop for bay boats. Contact them by phone or interenet. Tell what your set up is and they will sell you the best prop for it.

525 for the mirage or 400-450 for the power tech.

I have a 19" Powertech on my Yamaha 4 Stroke 150. Also, had one on my HPDI 150. Never have had issues with either.

Update on prop... These are my numbers...

Old prop: (Yamaha 13.5 x 18 4-blade stainless) 4500 rpms = 32 mph; 5800 rpms = 48 mph; excellent hole shot, horrible cruise speed, decent top end

New prop: (Powertech 15.25 x 19 3-blade stainless) 4500 rpms = 42 mph; 5600 rpms = 52 mph; very good hole shot, excellent cruise speed, better top end

I have found my prop! It will also go 5000 rpms = 49/50 mph. It was tested with close to a normal fishing load. Thanks for all the input. Thanks to Montauk for your help also. You were correct about the increase in cruising speed. This is what I was looking for.
