for those fold over lever style plugs:

if its left outside in sunlight then I use the same rule of thumb as with tires and expect them to last no more then 5 years, but if its kept out of direct sunlight, I see no reason to ever need to replace it unless the rubber (neoprene or whatever its is) starts to crumble or show spider cracking in the surface

I don't use plugs I just leave my bilge pump on at all times

fishfighter 04-04-2016 08:34 AM

plug

Alpha the plugs aren't made with the same quality anymore, walmart ones are junk and don't last, i bought a "better" one from stines in broussard, the rubber is holding up better, but it does have a little bit of seepage through the center, i am looking for better quality plug as well

Thats, more what I was looking for with my question. Also the brass gets corroded with green stuff and it's hard to turn to tighten. Especially the kind that has the T. .

try to get the ones with the loop, but make sure the loop goes up away from the bottom line of the boat :grinpimp::spineyes::spineyes::spineyes:

alphaman 04-04-2016 10:49 AM

I have a step. I dont think the the loop will work. But I'll check it out to see if there is room
