I had this bird came fly in right by me about 8 feet away. I started walking up to it and got 2 foot from him. This bird was making all kinds of noise. I was just wondering if you guys ever seen this around your house are work. I really think it's tame.Attachment 104006

Prothonotary Warbler. They are cavity nesters. Might be something wrong with it, because most wild birds aren't very interested in people.

Normally, if a wild animal allows you to approach it, and it doesn't leave, that is a pretty good sign that is either injured or sick.

If it took off, it may have just been startled and had a late reaction to you approaching.

Could have just gotten through making a long flight across the Gulf of Mexico. They sometimes get so worn out when they hit a north wind they fall out the sky and take a little while to

Ah, very good point. Didn't think of that. It is neotropical migration season after all.

Years ago, we had a morning Dove that was walking around our patio and came up near our back door.

I got some "bird food" [don't remember what it was]. When the bird walked away from the back door, I stepped outside and stooped down with my hand held out.

The dove walked over to me and feed out of my hand for several bites.

Then either the next morning or maybe a day later, while waiting out on the driveway for my carpool ride to pick me up for work....a dove flew down a few feet from me as if to say "hello" again.

I know it didn't fly from Lafayette to Fourchon. This morning it was back and i put some brown rice out by our steps and ( he or she) ate it like it was starving.
