Found a few fish holding in the reefs on the backside of Marsh Island. Easy pickings right now when the wind lays down. Dead shrimp under a popping cork. Trout were all caught on voodoo shrimp under cork.

That's what's up! Caught them early or late afternoon

Alright so I never fish the reefs in the pass. I usually fish the cove, hammic, dry reef etc inside the bay or just flat out run off shore to the rigs in tiger shoals.
What i was wondering is if the reefs are as bad as everyone says... what i mean by that, if you go fish them do you have a chance of getting stuck in a boat that only drafts 10" of water? I would really like to learn how to fish them but I am also scared to run up and put me, my crew, and my boat in dangers way. |

If you don't know where they are at, then yes there is a chance, but you should be able to see them before you'd hit it. Now they aren't all sticking out of the water, but you'll normally see the tide or waves breaking over them. Don't run close to the shore either, stay a few hundred yard or further out. |

Thisis what the reef look like. from the Pass to Diamond. Anything in red you will get stuck on. You can see them in clear water or when the tide is moving.

Will do. Is there tide movements/wind direction that makes the reef unfishable?
|
with a strong south and the gulf rollers. Island shelters it from an east wind. Wind is when it is cleanest.
