LA Premiere Subdivision, Maurice

Any of you guys live there? I'm looking at buying a house in there and leaning very hard toward putting in an offer very soon. Really love the house and the area. Just wondering if any of you guys might live there and what's your opinion of the subdivision.

I don't know much about the subdivision but Vermilion parish sales tax is 10.50%. Any big tickets items you buy will cost you more.

Looked at some houses there but didn't pull the trigger. However, if you have kids, you can't ask for a better public school system in the area. Cecil Picard is excellent and the new Jr high is very good, the high school is very good also. My son will be a freshman at NVHS this year. I believe at the end of the 2014 school year the high school finished #1 in the state in ACT scores and % of kids accepted into college among public schools. Demographics wise, good luck finding better percentages anywhere in S La. Lots of salt with very little pepper.

Yeah, that school district is one of the main reasons we want to be in Maurice. I've heard nothing but good about all the schools there and we're just ready to get out of Lafayette. We love Lafayette but we're ready to move to a smaller, quiet town, plus Lafayette is only 5 minutes away.
