Sabine River 8/20/2016

Fished chocolate milk from 6:15am til 5:15pm. Water was a little high. Caught 16 bass, kept 7.
Flipping creature baits wasn't working for me (I need a longer rod with a retractable handle if anyone has any suggestions on a brand/model). Most fish were caught on U-Tail worms.
Somebody told me there is good black water if you head down the canal East from the Burnt Out Bridge launch (take a right).
Many of my usual areas didn't produce anything. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...a79c1b0815.jpg

Nice ! You got'em figured out !! I fished Sabine Friday morning and only caught 4 very small bass. I'm editing the video of the trip right now.

Hardly. I went several hours between fish. Kinda depressing. I caught two keepers early, then nothing for a long, long time.
By 3:45pm, I had caught only 6 bass all day. My chest had 2 bass and a bluegill in it.
Tired and tired of being hot, I headed to the launch.
On the way, I tried one last spot on the TX side (because I'm stubborn and a glutton for more sunburn).
I caught 10 bass there in an hour.
It was rewarding. That's why I love fishing.

Yeah but all the water not in the main cut in burnt out is private duck lease

The water to the east of Burnout was clear and black! we fished it for the last hr of our tournament. Didnt get a single bite. Sometimes they are in there tho.
