9-18-16 Quick Reds & Trout limits

1 Attachment(s)
First stop I boxed 5 reds and 10 trout. 2nd and final stop I had to cull thru all the reds to finish out limit of trout. Caught and released another 2 limits of reds and finished off my limit of 15 trout and back to launch before 11. Boat cleaned and back home for kickoff. Pic was after first stop when I made fish count. Get another one when get to cleaning table. I say quick! Lol. Reds have been easy to come by and trout are finally showing back up in Turners again. Still lots of dinks. Can't wait for the big ones to get back in there. Lots of boats in Turners this am but most got out late. Back to work on days for week or so. Live pogies is what I caught them on. Been launching an hour before daybreak to go catch bait then at the fishing hole at day break.

Nice catch. I've never been scared to throw Pogies either.

Caught many a meal using them.

pogies all over LNG canal. Hardly ever in same place and don't always see them unless dead calm. But they make a sound that is unmistakeable. That little flip they do on top and by time u look its gone lol. But I've always caught them. Every now and then mullet will be up on the banks

Were u find pogies fish are usually close by so other morning I got all the pogie I needed in one cast so decided to fish around and kill an hour or so I had till daylight. There was fish but all I could get was gafftop. Weird in 35-40 feet of water and gafftop nailing the pogies a foot under Poppin cork lol
