Stolen guns

I'm beginning to have very little faith in our judicial system. 10/15, I discovered my house had been broken into. I knew who done it, family members meth head husband. Anyway, the Calcasieu sheriff's office recovered 3 of 5 gun from his house, which is next door. I went yesterday to meet with the detective and give a statement. He basically told me the punk would likely plead to unlawful entry and burglary. The punk bonded out and is back home! Shouldn't this be a felony offense since he stole firearms??? Who can I talk to or what can I do? Any help would be appreciated.

Well first of all there is unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and simple burglary. both are felonies. In your case it would be simple burglary. All felony charges have bonds set on them except for extreme cases so it's not surprising that this guy bonded out.

I'm far from being a lawyer but I'd think that's a felony, possession of stolen firearms. Maybe your district attorney can help? Good luck...

The guy that broke into my house and stole my guns in April 2015 only did about 6 months in jail. It was not his first offense either. This dude steals so much that when he is in a cage the crime rate in the area drops significantly(told to me by detective). I just read in the paper where he was recently picked up for burglary and possession of stolen firearms AGAIN. Maybe he will finally do some hard time but I doubt it.

I know this punk won't do much time but I want to be sure he is charged with a felony.

That's why we are descending into a lawless society.
Not ENOUGH punishment. Our representatives should learn from this if they are not that worried on keeping their jobs.

This dude needs to have an accident.

Drop a dime to the ATF. Probably some federal crimes here. If the feds will prosecute him, he'll do real time.

But the feds don't take a lot of cases. Worth a try though.

Nawww...the ATF is too busy delaying suppressor purchase applications to take up such an unimportant matter:pissed:.

This is something worth thought. But, if this is a felony now, I know he will have a gun after his conviction. That will be the time to call the ATF for sure.

A good time to invest in a safe. Thats such a helpless feeling knowing he is back right next door watching and waiting for you to drive off to work.

I have most of my guns at another house thank God.
