We planted 4 cayene peppers this year specially to pickle them we are out. Growig up as a kid we had a qt of sliced pickled cayenes on the table always. We used the vinegar as hot sauce and a few rings on top of ya beans or stews were good too.
I didn't know folks bought hot sauce till I was in high school.

Damm Cappy you making me feel old. You take that pickled juice with some mayo and you got a #1 salad dressing too . Young one's these days don't know what it is to make their yard provide for them . I guess they rather work and go buy store bought second hand. My grand kids from kansas come for a visit and we go in the garden and they see whats growing . I let them pick and help prepare and they eat things they would never eat at home . Last summer they wiped out my pickled peppers so I'm going to put extra this year .

yea Buba when the grand kids come here they do the same. I have seen one of my granddaughters go check the fig tree 10 times a day to see if any were ripe she missed.
When the new yorkers come down they pretty much camp out under the citrus trees.
