Yes the tides were very strong today, not an extremly low tide. Then the incoming tide came in real fast. (I was working on a boat house today)

guys thats some good news.

During the oyster and inland shrimp seasons, the LDWF make a lot of rounds.
Opening weekend of oyster season we were fishing in Turners Bay. 3 LDWF
boats passed right by us on the way to the Oyster fishing area.
Another time I was running towards a reef on the South side of the lake and
a LDWF boat was following me. I stopped, figgered he was going to check me,
then he took a hard right turn to go check an Oyster boat.

Have not seen any floaters on the San Bernard river, but the Pelicans are swimming around gorging on something. And they don't look too lively

Heard there was a large fish kill in West Cove this morning. I believe Joe's Cove had some dead fish in it also. Lake temp was 37 this morning so things are not looking very good at the moment.

Is this fact or rumor? With the hard moving tides I would find it hard to believe trout would die in west cove or joes.... So close to channel

Montauk17 01-10-2010 03:08 PM

Where exactly is joes cove? Ive heard of it but not sure where its at.

Raymond 01-10-2010 08:25 PM

I trust my source, he heard it from the person in the Helo flying this morning.
