trip to big lake

Guys,

I am looking to make a trip to Big lake soon. I have only been there once before and didn't do very well. What would be my best time to come? Place to stay etc.. any help on the must haves and places to fish would be great. I don't want to drive 3 hours each way again to get shutout.

Thanks!

I would recommend that you wait atleast a few weeks to allow the water to warm up a little and get back to normal. Water is still fairly "fresh" after the heavy rains a few weeks ago.

Watch the fishing reports......and then plan your trip.

Look under the post about the upcoming tournament and there is information about local housing.

Thanks. I was thinking it would be the middle of March at the earliest. If you guys think I would be better waiting for the spawn I can do that too. I am not concerned about catching numbers, I want to catch one fish that I have been after for 10 years.

If we have no rain for a while, it will start getting better...Hopefully march will be good...Thats why we put the tourney that month!

Adamsfence said the water levels by Oakdale are getting back to normal.
If we don't get much more rain, we should see some salt water by the time
I get back from work.

Look I can take a joke as well as anyone. It is not the jokes that bother me, it is the redundancy that bothers me.

Why don't you and I go to ENSCO 86 together? My boat, fuel, tackle, everything.

Besides ASR's sarcasm, any input is appreciated.

all star rod 01-13-2010 08:15 PM

Not my fault none of your LSU homies gave you any tips! However, I hope they pass some on to you and if not well not my fault. Oh, I am sure someone on here would love to take you up on the same offer you presented to me!
