NEW: TTF Prototype Colors - tell us what you think!

http://texastacklefactory.com/images...purplerain.jpg

What's up Cajuns! I wanted to spread the news that TTF has four new prototype colors we're working on, and we wanted some input from the fishing public. You'll notice they have a particular Louisiana flare. ;)

You can see the new colors, here:
http://texastacklefactory.com/index....catid=42:blogs

Once you check them out, be sure to go to our home page at http://www.TeamTTF.com and vote for which color you like best. The poll is located at the bottom of the right-hand column - you have to scroll down a bit to find it. We want your feedback. Your votes may decide which of these colors see the light of day!

bayou bengal looks sweet!

I like the 3 others better, but willing to give any of them a try.
That white with purple glitter is different.

What is that Flex jig?

TeamTTF 01-13-2010 03:16 PM

Ray, I'm working up more info on that right now, actually.

From this photo you can basically get the concept:
http://texastacklefactory.com/images/flex_overhead.jpg

Basically you insert the hook trailer from the back and through the nose of the bait, then you clip the head on and slide the plastic up the head so that everything is enclosed in the plastic. Since the shaft of the hook is free to "flex", the bait takes on a lot more action that with a fixed-shank jighead. Pretty cool concept. The Flex jig was invented by a fella' named Jack Stazo. He's given TTF exclusive rights to manufacturing the head.

Here's a shot from the website of what it looks like rigged:

Very interesting.

very innovative concept!

I like the geaux gleaux and bayou bengal... that jig concept is neat has it been field tested yet? How well does the bait stay on after it has been hit a couple of times?

Thanks for the feedback and question.

The Flex-Jig can be rigged from the back, top and many other ways. The bait will not come off until you take it off. Since the hook is inserted from the top or back and then connected to the head pin, the bait is basically linked on. It's on to stay since it can't slide down.

Really a very nice looking bait.

Field test w/ prove if they will work......I like the concept of jig head.........

The dual hooks for the Flex-Jig come in all different sizes that fit different size baits.

One Tip to add length to the hook for shrimp tails--- add a swivel to the dual hook then attach the hook and swivel to the pin on the jig head. This puts the hook right at the tail.

The Flex-Jig packaging will come with rigging instructions and tips printed on it.

Ha, what you got bouncing around in that noggin of yours?

If we get a lot of interest we may be able to manufacture the hook trailer in different lengths, gaps and wire sizes. I can't tell you the exact length of the rig from head to hook, but the one in the picture is about 3 inches.

I'll tell ya' a little something I've been experimenting with: putting a spoon (with a barrel swivel) behind the head. Looks wicked in the water. And it let's you get a faster sink rate on your spoon in deeper water.

Lots of possibilities with the Flex jig!

I sent samples to Shadman. Not sure if he received them yet. The Salty Cajun is still in the works.

Salty Cajun has Opening Night in it. I gave him 2 different color combination ideas I thought would be great fish and fisherman catchers. But the final color is up to ya'll.
