hatti earthquake

maybe im just an A-hole, but does anyone else think that you should not be bombarded by everyone and everything to send money to Hatti? IF you want to send money send it, but most of it wont even reach the poor people there and when it does it wont be used correctly.

End rant

Tis true there will be those that use the Haiti destruction, as a money making opportunity in the name of helping out.

our tax money will spend hundreds of millions and probably billions to rebuild this country...i'm not sending them a dime...

We are sending thru Catholic Charities. It will go to feed, clothe and cover as many as
they can, but they have to go thru the churches to get it. It won't be money given to
any crooked politicians who get their cut before sending it to companies who get their
cut before buying food and water for the needy.

there is local pharmacist in Houma who does a Haitian mission trip every year. All they ask is $40 to buy a family a goat. Or whatever you can spare to buy these folks meds. Seems like they need a few excavators and more than anything.

I would encourage you to look for opportunities to give through your church...I know for a fact that there are Southern Baptist Missionaries already on the ground in Haiti helping with relief. There are also Catholic Missionaries and other denominations there. Also consider organizations like Samaritan's Purse and World Vision Ministries. These are reputable organizations, skilled in reaching people during disaster relief, with people on the ground in contact with the Haitians who need help the most. They will also be sharing the life changing power of the gospel of Christ as well. The federal government will send our tax dollars to Haiti that will be funneled through their government. Which happens to be the most corrupt in the Western Hemisphere.

Don't be discouraged to give...just be wise in who you give through!!!

Did any of you watch the special they did last night on 60 minutes, they were putting bodies into a front end loader and dumping them into a dump truck, then burying them in mass graves.
