#1 crabs behind the weir's

Decided to break in my new S/C columbia fishing shirt and S/C fishing towel. Sole intent was to catch a box of blue crabs; no problem 30 minutes after i got to favorite crabbing spot I had my limit of good medium crab's. I put them in my live well and started purging them. While that was going on decided to see if any red's in the area. A select chunk of personal bait shrimp and I was ready. First cast in parrelled the shell under water island . Didn't have time to put reel in clicker modeand there was a strike. Of course a nice keeper red . 4more later I remember my crab net's are still the water. Of course I aspected the bait to totally gone. I was surprised to find in all 6 drop net'sAt least 4 to 7 #1 blue crab's. I quickly rebaited and back in the water they went. Now since no one was around I returned the one's in the live well back to the water. Any other time there are boat's every where. Oh well that's it.There are plenty of crab' s behind the weir's.http://www.saltycajun.com/forum/images/icons/icon10.gif

Hope you are not crabbing in MY spot. I may have to make a trip to catch some. What did you use for bait.....chicken or fish?

I kept a bunch of flounder carcasse's this past year .I found in the past they work reel well. Today with no more pressure than there was , I don't think it would matter. Wife decided to make a shrimp, red fish and crab stew all in one. That's the pic you'll see.

Will"E" nice to hear you caught. We went back there last weekend and caught some crabs also. We tied up to those pipes just inside to the right. I don't know the area yet so I have no secret spots yet. LOL. I may have to start saving some of those fish carcasse's to go crabbing with, I usually go buy chicken necks.

Notice I said blue crab's. How you been Raymond?

The only fish bait that hasn't produced are hard head's.

Tired man, made a couple of marathon wades today, tripped and got wet.
Sailed $20.00 worth of Corky's off the end of my rod but ended the day with 15 3-6#'s. Unfortunately, the 6 was hooked on the gills so we kept her. Call me Monday to check schedules, and let's try to grab lunch one day.
