I have a rem 700P .308. its a sniper rifle. and what you do is take the barrel off the stock and take everything out of it(trigger, bolt, everything). then you fill all the holes around the action with putty. then you tape off all around the stock and you put epoxy in around where the action goes. you then set the barrel back into the stock and let the epoxy harden. one its hard you remove the barrel and trim away the excess.

all in all it cradles the action of the rifle better and improves accuracy as a result. I will also be painting it and replacing the trigger. but one thing at a time. I'll post pics when I get it finished.Ill try and post some before I paint and after. but I gotta get this done first and get it back together.

sweet. yea this is my first bedding job. id like to get really in depth with it but i dont have the money. my main goals before season are new trig, custom rounds, mcmillan stock, and lots of trigger time.

i really wanna take a deer at 500+ this year

Hey buddy, I like the book and the bedding pics, but you gotta give that plant some TLC...(water)

Nice guns guys, and the 700 is hard to beat. I am getting one of the new 700's w/ the 5R Milspec barrel in .308.

Once I break in the barrel, I will have it blueprinted, then reload brass that has been shot once by the gun. I have shot this same set up I am describing and put 5 shots that a quarter covered from 200 yards with my brother-n-laws set up. Topped with a 6x20-50mm Zeiss, sweet and deadly. He has no problem shooting 500 yards on a regular basis.
