Is This The Worst Trout Fishing Ever?

I know there are a couple of places where folks are catching trout, but from what I understand, they aren't catching many, and those places are few and far between.

I've heard some decent reports from the Hopedale area, Lake Pelto out of Cocodrie and Calcasieu. Can't confirm it, but I also heard Venice guys are starting to pick up a few.

I fished Pontchartrain Tuesday afternoon with Captains Greg Schlumbrecht and Tommy Pellegrin and Dularge today with Captain Bill Lake, and I can tell you it felt a lot more like work than it did fishing.

Every bit of water we fished looked more like chocolate milk river water than it did saltwater.

Word was that LDWF did some net surveys around Mechant and Sister Lake but only came up with three trout, although I haven't confirmed it yet.

My question is, is this the worst stretch of speckled trout fishing you've ever experienced?

.......that's why they call it fishing. See, I think people in Louisiana are spoiled to the luxury of "catching" while fishing.

I think trout fishing has been much like last duck season. Either you're catching them are you aren't. And if you're having your worst season ever, your buddy 20 miles up the road is having his best.

Just wondering what everybody else is experiencing. What area do you fish?

caught fish all winter in the G.I. area.
But the guys in the boats weren't doing so good.;)

I fish Big Lake, I just wade all day and fish slow. I have not caught any pigs yet but have seen 2 over 8 caught this year. They were both released :)

I have had a few good days lately.......One day me and bonsack caught about 80trout ........ Had a few other days we limited with 45 and 30 trout days....... Trout are where they are supposed to be right now. I just think it’s your method of your fishing..........Some days bite was slow others it was fast...

Freshwater messed up the usually very good winter bite starting in December, delayed it to mid-late Febraury. The past three-four weeks have been very good, we had a limit of good fish on top Friday, all fresh gulf trout pushing in.

we had some good trip after the freeze and we also had some crummy ones all in all once this wind slacks and the water clears i think it will be just fine it also dosnt help that the river has not gotten below 12 ft in new orleans for more than a week ALL freakin fall , winter, and looking like the spring as well . i tasted the water in north cocodrie lasrt weekend it tasted like britta water not a hint of salt
