I to like many of yall on this site go away for weekends to do some fishing with the family. Well this past weekend was a little different. Apparently a bad storm came through on Friday while i was at the pt and my house was struck by lightning. It jumped down into my hot water heater and then into my washing machine. Causing a valve to stay open inside my washer. So my washer kept filling up and overflowing till sunday when I returned. Flooded half of my house. Service master came in and pulled carpet that was in the bedroom and now has 8 fans and 4 humidifiers running 24 hrs a day to dry the sheet rock. Several of the walls are starting to dry but a few corners are still wet. If they dont start drying then I will have to start ripping sheetrock out. They said it could take 4-7 days of drying before we know something. The lightning also fried my AC, Cable boxs, hot water heater, Baby monitor, Modems, and all GFI outlets.
A little advice....May want to think about turning off your water when leaving town for a few days. Also...Service Master crew are a great group. They were at my house within an hour of me calling and have been back a couple of times a day to check on things. |
