I lightly rinse off and dry my reels after each fishing trip.
I oil my reel bearings every 3 to 5 trips. I take my Curado apart and clean / lub it every 6 to 9 months. |

dont spray them too hard, because it can force water into places that its not suppose to be
the best is to just set them in a bucket of water for a few minutes then let them dry well |

I am supprised the instructions did not say anything about cleaning the piece that "moves" [clutch plate] when you push the thumb bar down. Or the linkage that works the "anti-reverse" part of the reel.
These areas get "cruddy" and need to be cleaned to keep the reel working smooth. |

Reelman told me to take a 409 type sprayer with a little bit of Simple Green and water and spray the reel and wipe down with a clean dry rag.
That's my new thang, unless I drop her in the water. |
