It's taking over our marsh. There wasn't nearly as much last time now it's everywhere. Anyone know what it is? |

If it is salvina the area will soon look like solid ground. Will totally ruin a duck marsh.
the ducks can't see water so they don't try to land. |

Starting to think its salvinia minima aka water fern... Aka Sux bad. Can't really poison it because it's endless marsh and it's as far as I could see. I sprayed our pond and just gonna hope for the best. Hopefully it will die in the winter

It will not die in the winter. We sprayed it with several different chemicals in our duck ponds with no luck.

Not salvinia which is good, looks like frog's bit Limnobium spongia. Could be a pondweed can't really tell how large the plant is, if its less than 3 inches across its probably frogs bit. If bigger, its a pondweed. Frogs bit is native, not sure if ducks eat it but they probably do

Not sure of the name but that is actually some of the best duck feed around. We transplant and grow that around alot of our blinds every year. If u pull up the roots there will be some small white seeds which is what the ducks eat.

Yea the white seed is all over. But there's so myluch it almost seems like there is no where for the to land. We didn't spray to kill all of it just where the ducks would land
