Good old fashioned gaspargoo. You can cut that up and sell it for crawfish bait. Not good for much else though.

We've always made patties with them.Just like with garfish. Its good eating IMO

You're right. The cold moving spring water we catch them in makes them less fishy than their saltwater cousins.

For the record I don't eat redfish either, but It makes for excellent trading material. i have some older retired neighbors that love them, my window seals stay full of fresh tomatoes and the freezer is full of okra and beans. I don't eat drum, salt or fresh water. There's much better fish in the water.
