You need to launch in deep water and stay there....water is extremely low this time of year...even the most experienced guides on BL can find themselves in a pickle...jus BEWARE

Launch at Heberts if you fishing the weirs. It will protect you from a North or East wind. Water is still low. Will be a long run if you in a flat bottom aluminum boat. |

you should be fine just dont hug the bank too close and if you fish the grand bayou weir make sure you swing wide to the right side coming around the corner to get to it

Jsmoke should be able to help you with that one. First weir holds them if there's water movement. Sometimes its the ones farther south hold better. Good luck if you go.

Yes it gets shallow by the banks...even more so this time of the year. Stay a few 100 yards off the east bank and you will be fine. You can catch at any of the weirs. Most of the time the first weir is as far as you need to go. Make sure you go when the tide is falling and it should be a no brainer. Chartruse swimming mullet gulp or skrimp on the bottom.
