stix is right, 70 mph in the truck on a windy day that rod is under some stress. plus if it bangs up against the grabrail even worse...

I have mine shotgun in the truck, I don't pay as much as many of you for rods and reels but I'd still like to keep them from being stolen.

All mine stay in my truck. At all times. When the lil lady rides with me she just has to share shotgun. Never know when I'm gonna go fishin, sobi stay ready.
I have thought about mounting some rod holders on the bottom side of my truck bed cover. I did the measurements and turned diagonal I can fit 7 1/2 ft rods.
I may look into this soon.
