Question anyone use a projector??

i swear i'm not tryin to hijack the thread lol! so i've been looking at new tv's for awhile too (plasma, led, etc.), then i started lookin at projectors. i want a BIG SCREEN for sports and ps3, i'm talkin minimum 50"(i want 120") with 1080p. so after lookin for awhile now, i think i found a good one. (projects a 1080p image from 47" to 300", 4-colorwheel dlp) i found a place that sells them locally and will be going in for a demo of the unit. seems to me that i can get an adjustable image size, huge screen in HD and some portability for a few hundred $ more.. i've read tons of reviews and what i'm wonderin is, if anyone here has a HD projector and what their experiences have been with it?

Make sure to check the price of replacement bulbs. Depending on the model they can go anywhere from $200 - $500 when it burns out

LCD or LED is the way to go! Plasma you will be disappointed later on, 720p you will be disappointed later, 60 HZ you will be disappointed later!
The higher the aspect:ratio the better and you want at least 120 HZ, 240 HZ is awesome but pricey, and if you have direct tv with HD box it will transmit 1080p as well as gaming systems and what not, Blu-Ray on a 1080p/120HZ VERSUS a 720p/60HZ is no comparison that 720 is gonna look like basic television when the 1080 will be alot more screens per second and more vibrant!
This is a spectacular deal for 52" LG, which is all I have they last forever!
Hope this helps!!
Check this link out at best buy 52" under 1000 bucks it would be a good buy!!

LCD, LED all still have problems with motion blur or pixelation (ie sports)...Just sayin...plasma on the other does not have issues with motion blur and will not "BURN IN" like they say...

Speckinthebox has a one of the first 42" plasmas from samsung that came out...we watched the BCS game at his house and I was amazed at the picture quality and no burn in either...this TV is 6-8 years old!! The older cheap plasmas did have issues with burn in...you get what you pay for.

Ask any vidophile what kind of Tv they would prefere LCD, PLasma...Plasma all the way.

One of my friends has an HD projector and its pretty nice. The only downfall I see is you gotta make sure the room is dark to get the best picture

I have a 50" Vizeo plasma that I bought about 6 years ago for $1300. Never had one problem with it. I think you can get one now for about $700 or $800.
