It just gels on the "red top" filter on the fuel canister of a 225 Optimax at the side of the motor. I have seen diesel do this also but never gas, so I am thinking David may be right about the "allergy".

I've heard of ethanol turning fuel filters to mush, sea foam has alot of alcohol in it could be the problem.

According to the email that the manufacturer of sea foam sent me back, it is a "petroleum blend" and it should not affect my filters in the way I described.
