I purchased one to take fishing footage and absolutely do not like it as I find it hard to edit extended recordings. However, I have a friend who uses them for quick underwater footage and it seems to be great for that. As mentioned, get a good card and make sure your computer can handle the editing.

Here is the package I been lookin' at, but, I want to find one that has everything I need (memory card, waterproof case, etc). I was told that there is a specific case I need to get because the one that comes with the camera causes dark patches in the corners.

For some reason I thought I could turn it on when I started a trip and turn it off when I left but it takes a lot of time/processing power to go through an hour + of footage. I feel like start/stop filming is a lot easier with a camcorder but that may just be my personal preference. Also, your computer makes a big difference in editing capability. I run a Mac and the software is very easy to use. I am sure there are good programs for Windows or Winstons, depending on what you use. |
