A lot of people use them for catfish bait I never had good luck with that kind coonasses call it en cong.

Used to catch them in the gully behind my grandma's house. I haven't seen one in years either, they are pretty cool.

My dad always called them congs too. usually always see them in ditches, they usually bury themselves in soft mud.

Used to gig them when the river would flood into our pasture. Nasty little critters. Usually End up biting themselves and killing themselves.
