I saw a video of the this man using a remote control toy boat that has a grasp hook. He was fishing near a freshwater dam. He would attach his line to the grasp, then pilot the toy boat from the bank, and release the line when then boat was right at the foot of the dam. Channel catfish were right at the base of the dam. The remote control boat was about three feet long.

Yeah, the curling waves of a beach might sink the little boat. But a flying kite with a grasp hook.........hmmmmmm.

You need to train a dog for this, not a rock dog or ribbon dog but a crab dog or mullet dog. Instead of retrieving, train him to take the bait out and drop it using hand signals. Profit

as you can see it is completely sealed and water proof so it can go through or under the ways without a problem as long as its not white caps that would make steering it and issue |

I suggest a quad copter rigged with a camera and remote release. This one's would be pretty sweet for sight fishing. Then hack it to remotely release your line.

heck he could always just go real simple and bring a kayak and paddle out to drop the bait then return to shore and wait for a bite
or stay on the yak and go for a ride when one bites like this guy: |

I believe there is a good size group that uses RC boats on the TX beaches. I remember following a thread on the TX site a while back.

Hey, yeah a kayak would be the way to go. Let the kiddos paddle out and get their exercise.

Yeah, dat's awesome. Thanks for sharing. Been too busy to put one together yet, but a bud in LC has some parts to share and we'll work on it the next trip.

I've looked at few of those on YouTube but haven't seem what they are using as a trigger/release. What's your idea on that?
Also saw a homemade one made of PVC pipe. Not sure I like that idea. |
