If it were me, I would also add a support lengthwise across the middle so you can still flip it up while maintaining the most surface area for your foot.

i can flip it up and down already, but You lost me with this one goooh? O I think I see what you mean. im not looking to cover the whole thing just about 3/4 of it. Plus there is almost an inch gap when it is in the up position

I want a plate instead of the supports. Yall talking about the add 2 more aluminum bars in the gap that I'm trying to cover. Ive seen that kind already

I feel ya.

I would add the plate Alpha, but have it rest on top of an added cross beam so that one of your kids or yourself doesn't stand on it and bend it downward in the center. I wouldn't just put a plate without adding some support to the center.

Sterlings in New Iberia or Cade at Acadiana props. Both do great work and will tell you the best way to support it.

That's what I going to do . I Just didn't say all the details. But My daughter like to stand on that foot rest and she keeps slipping off. Also this plate Will make it easier for my boys to drive the boat.
