It's only an $1800 option for the diesel, so I'm considering both. I understand that the diesel doesn't quite tow AS MUCH as the 5.7 liter, but it only differs by about 700 lbs.... That's not enough to justify one or the other.

Really? wow, then why bother with a diesel? I mean that's why I went from a Tundra 5.7 to a Ford diesel 6.7 f350 was for the towing went from 12K to almost 30K towing. Im really surprised/disapointed at the towing capacity of the 1500 deisel

Dodge 2500 2004.5 4wd 5.9 Cummins 16mpg city with 33's 140,000 miles 100plus HP chip. 11years and counting truck is holding together well can't justify replacing it. I'm a red light racer
