Default Concealed Carry Permit

Time to renew my permit. After the amendment was passed for gun ownership is it still necessary to have a permit?

To own, no. To carry, yes.

You can carry a gun around in a holster all you want as long as you are not a perceived threat to the public. If you want to keep it in your pocket you need to have a permit.

Correct
Although, permit or not you can not carry in a bar, school, federal Bldg, church, or any retail establishment who post a "no guns allowed" sign.

I wonder if paid venues include charter boats? I've almost always carried on charter boats (without bothering to ask), but in hindsight, I don't think I've done it in Louisiana.

I wonder how the captains feel about this. Would you be offended if you found out a properly licensed paying customer was carrying on your boat without asking?

There's nothing states about paid venues. Although, these places may have signs posted.

You are allowed to CC at a paid venue as long as alcohol is not sold.

Thanks for clearing that up.

What about a fair? Where food and beer is sold but you don't have to admission?

I just took the class and our instructor talked about all these places. According to him u can carry at a parade it's just highly recommended not to. As far as bars no, but other places that serve alcohol such as restaurants you can carry as long as u don't sit at the bar. This is what we were told anyways.
