You can carry a gun around in a holster all you want as long as you are not a perceived threat to the public. If you want to keep it in your pocket you need to have a permit.

Correct
Although, permit or not you can not carry in a bar, school, federal Bldg, church, or any retail establishment who post a "no guns allowed" sign.

Don't quote me on that I'm not 100% sure. I was listening to spokseperson for the LA State Police talk and she mentioned it but I never looked fully into it.

When I get this stack of papers knocked down on my desk I'll look.

I wonder if paid venues include charter boats? I've almost always carried on charter boats (without bothering to ask), but in hindsight, I don't think I've done it in Louisiana.

I wonder how the captains feel about this. Would you be offended if you found out a properly licensed paying customer was carrying on your boat without asking?

Hell, if it were my boat I would encourage open carry. Good way to ward off the Potlickers and Figure 8ers!

I have never understood a business posting a sign that says "No concealed weapons" because to me that's asking to be robbed, if I owned a business I would want people packing just for that one time some idiot tried to pull somethin stupid

Understandable, but doesn't mean the owner/employee inside isn't carrying.

If it is concealed and you keep it that way how would they ever know. Unless you had the need arise to use it and then maybe they would be understanding?
