there is a rouses supermarket in youngsville and i remember a few weeks ago they had sheepshead filets and it was 12.99 a pound. no lie

hey sheephead is good as hell to east, when they fresh from the gulf, mmmmmm

i remember i promised these girls a fresh fried fish dinner one night, fishing off my dock all i caught was some drum and a few big sheepys, fried em up they never knew the difference!

I sent the guy a pm i'll take them

It's funny how we see things differently in different regions! We won't eat Black Drum in the Big Bend of Flahdah' , cause when they get larger they get wormy! And we catch some nice ones! But convicts? Sheepshead? Nice firm white meat, have to say I'd put em' on the grill anytime!

But take that fellow fishin'? Naw, he looks like I've seen him in the local "police beat."

Them convict fish are good to eat, but a pain in the arse to clean. I'll keep 'em if they're big enough. Gotta watch them pin bones though. On the grill half shell, fried &/or blackened is umm good. It's under rated. They fight pretty good, too. A great fish for the kids to catch when the other species ain't bitin'
