I used to run 4 batteries until Ben Hollingsworth with Trolling Motors Unlimited in Chalmette proved to me that I didn't need the 4th battery. Been running it that way since with no problems whatsoever. You want a beast...get a MotorGuide with a 3-blade metal prop. Them plastic ones flex too much...no matter how many blades they have. Good luck.
Does your outboard charge your other 2 trolling motor batch ries while your running?

It can be done, but you will need some expensive elect. equip. to automatically seperate the batteries. The engine charges 12 vdc and the battery bank will be either 24 vdc or 36 vdc.

All you need is a perko switch, not expensive.
