It's a little different concoction but when I was younger my grandmother would give me a solution of honey, lemon and goose grease. A few hours after drinking about 2 tablespoon of
this I can remember coughing up chunks of nasty stuff. It tasted good also. I don't know where you might be able to find goose grease in a grocery any more, but I'm sure you could substitute the goose grease with some duck fat or similar grease. Get well soon.
