I agree. sorry you had problems but the okuma inspira 40 is great. also use a penn AV4000 on my castaway skeleton which is the set up I use more than the okuma. I love penn and probably always will. but those okumas I bought last year perform just as well for a little less money and have a much better warranty. but penn or okuma would be a great choice. also have heard great things about shimano's line of spinners, but I found the penns first and have no complaints so its hard to spend money on something different when you have found something that works good. only reason I tried the okumas was because they were on sale at chags tent sale and they were giving away free gear and the warranty was great so I figured I'd give em a whirl since I had nothing to lose

I do a lot of wade fishing at home in Florida during tournaments and it is not uncommon for my reels to be laying 2 feet deep while I unhook fish. I have had all the expensive reels and ended up selling all of them and bought the Shimano Symetry 3000. It has proven itself over and over in terrible conditions. if you can find last years model on ebay you can pick them up for 60.00. Now that's all I have and have no regrets at all.

Stradic have been my choice.
They look like hell from banging around in that alloy boat of mine. but they are tough as nails.
