x2... a fish can twist out of the Berkley... it happened to me also... luckily fish hit the bottom of the boat. Now, I lip it and push down on the spring... It seems to keep it locked.

I lost a nice red in the last kayak tourney due to the grip. I was a little ticked to say the least as he was almost touching 27" and the last fish I caught
