I will be there next weekend, staying on our Chris Craft in one of the canals on Pleasure Island. I will be partying with a bunch of Pleasure Island boaters and fishermen.
I will see if I can get a few of them to sign up and give out info. on where to stay and where to have the weigh in.

Well...what ever you think of Shad.....I'd bet you a new boat that pitting LA vs Tx on Toledo bend would be a monster tourny...especially if you hit the red dirt on both sides w/ flyers or posted an ad in the Lakecaster mag! Like i said above...i'm all about saltwater fishing but i love a lil bass mastering too..plus the lake has a better accomadations for both sides. (no long trips after tops popped!)

I voted Saltwater but I do agree that Toledo would be a better match as far as the party after is concerned....

We can have a 2 part series.....who can sink the ship on salt and fresh to take an overall title trophy...Each site's owner holds down the trophy til the next year! But let's PLEASE have the Bass tourny held after August! Heat of summer Bassn' blows...a late Sept. early October date would be best. Plus.....have you ever tried camping at night when it's 80+ and humid? Shiiyaaayaa!!!

Good launch (?), but the only parking is along side the road. The lake is ~ 10 miles down the Sabine river. Shawn......how many can stay at your camp??????

There are a couple of motels in the Toomey/Vinton area. There is also an RV park in Vinton.
would not suggest using the burnout bridge unless you dont mind people borrowing your stuff permanently theft has gotten horrible in the last couple of years and like Gerald stated parking sucks. The camp would already be full that time of the year from everyone getting ready for duck season. Longhorn has some motel rooms and there is an rv park on the south side of the I-10 at that exit, its a little longer ride by boat but nibletts has RV parking and I believe 6 cabins they are north a ways. Nothing on Louisiana sign for a good weigh in.
