Default Drifting boat

Why did he allow himself to drift that far??? Did he try throwing out the anchor, or fashioning some sort of drift sock with a bucket ???

Why did he leave the boat also? It is easier to spot a boat than to spot a person in the water. Glad these people are OK, but I think he needs some education on boating.

the boat is now sunk at a slip at sand dollar... i saw it today ill take a pic tomorrow and post it... the old man that sells bait said there was a hole in the bottom and they put a pump in it to keep it floating...but the guy was pissed and decided to go get drunk at the bar instead of taking care of the boat and it sank...

He probably hadn't purchased an anchor or even a rope for that matter.
