Default trolling motor pros?

Alright, was putting boat up on my ramp, put it in neautral while on the ramp to get my strap, get it hooked up, it slides down, trolling motor head hit post, check on it, now it only runs in like 3 speeds and is all kind of fricked up..Didn't crack plastic, just a lil bump into the post.

Fool, I've got a 5 speed module for a 24 volt that I salvaged from my old Riptide. Give me a holler and I'll get it to you. I may be heading to the lake on Wednesday.

if any of yall can tell me how to get the 5 spd module out, i can get one off of another trolling motor (minn kota) only bad thing is, it's either going to be a 50 lb thrust, or 35. and the one on my boat is like a 40 or 45

Most Minny owners should have parts layin' around.

No joke. I bought a new one and it was in the shop out of the box. I've also got a bow mount for a riptide if anyone needs it.

I talked to both minn and guide dealers and repairs. They both said that it really all depends which # thrust you want when selecting a troll motor brand. With that being said, it could be as simple as a loose wire. I would bring it to someone to work on it. If you start buying parts without knowing what is wrong it may cost your more in the long run.

Fool, I'll look at it next time I go to the camp if you hadn't got it going yet. Maybe just a bad connection.

I got a similar problem, the ribbon connector from the 5 spd to the main control block got pinched. It only runs at high speed. 80 lb 24 volt min kota.
Matt W, still have any parts? Anybody else got suggestions.
